• Password (stored as a salted hash — we never store or see your plain-text password)

3.3 Subscription & Payment Data

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store credit card numbers or payment details on our servers. Stripe provides us with:

• Stripe Customer ID
• Subscription status and billing cycle
• Invoice history

3.4 Project & Content Data

Music projects, presets, instrument kits, and other creative content you save to the cloud are stored on our servers. You may delete your projects at any time.

3.5 Analytics Data

We use Matomo (self-hosted) for website analytics. Matomo is a privacy-focused, open-source analytics platform hosted on our own infrastructure — no data is shared with third parties. Matomo collects:

• Pages visited and visit duration
• Referring website
• Browser type and operating system
• Approximate geographic location (country/city level, derived from anonymized IP)
• Screen resolution

IP addresses are anonymized (last two bytes removed) before storage. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party tracking service.

We use a minimal number of cookies:

5. How We Use Your Data

• Account management — to authenticate you and manage your subscription
• Service delivery — to store and serve your projects, presets, and kits
• Transactional emails — verification codes, 2FA codes, and billing notifications (sent via MailerSend or SMTP)
• Analytics — to understand how the platform is used and improve it
• Support — to respond to your inquiries

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

6. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on servers managed by Infomaniak Network SA (Geneva, Switzerland), a hosting provider committed to ecological responsibility and data privacy. All data is stored within the European Union / Switzerland.

We implement appropriate security measures including HTTPS encryption, password hashing (bcrypt), and access controls.

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:

• Billing records — retained for 10 years as required by French tax law

8BitForge is not directed to children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
